Description |
|
These positions require individuals who are comfortable taking charge
of all phases of the sales process. Greeting the customer, helping
the customer select the appropriate furniture, going to the customer's
home or business for a design consultation, providing freehand or
computer-rendered drawings of the proposed installation, making the
sale, and providing necessary documentation to follow-up the sale.

Experience Required |
|
Successful sales experience, space planning ability, freehand sketching
skills, computer literacy (word processing and familiarity with Microsoft
Windows), and capacity to work well with others.
|
|
Compensation |
|
Guaranteed draw against generous commission percentage plus a $100/hour
home & business space planning consultation fee, 401(K), Medical/Dental
Plan, Paid Vacation and Sick Leave, and a supportive friendly working
environment.

Internship
Description
|

Interns
report to the Sales Manager, an interior design graduate who started
with GALVINS in 1991. Internships provide a unique opportunity to
learn various phases of the sales process. Additionally, interns
may be called upon to help organize the design library, assist in
floor displays, make follow-up calls to customers, provide back-up
design/drawing assistance for the staff, and perform other tasks
as needed. Interns will gain an excellent overview of store operations.
We prefer individuals who might like to work for GALVINS following
the completion of their internship.

Hours

Internships
are part-time with starting dates as soon as possible. Interns must
be willing to work at least 10 hours/week. Interns will be responsible
for making all arrangements for school credit.
